Basketball Recap: Mater Academy Charter Comes Up Short

Mater Academy Charter lost against Sports Leadership & Management back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Mater Academy Charter Lions fell to Sports Leadership & Management 45-40. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ethan Taylor was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 11 boards for Sports Leadership & Management. The match was Taylor's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jayden Vigo, who posted 12 points.

Mater Academy Charter's loss dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Sports Leadership & Management, the victory got them back to even at 9-9.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Mater Academy Charter Lions face off against the Killian Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Killian's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three contests. Sports Leadership & Management has already played their next game, a 67-53 win against Hialeah Gardens on the 21st.
