Basketball Recap: Tenley Mullendore's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Saint James over GVCS Broadfording

On Saturday, the Saint James Saints were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 34-28 to the GVCS Broadfording Lions.

Saint James' loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tenley Mullendore, who posted 14 points. Mullendore has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. Renee Sullivan was another key player, putting up seven points and four steals.

Saint James has traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 11 contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 10-11 record this season. As for GVCS Broadfording, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 3-5 record this season.

Coincidentally, Saint James and GVCS Broadfording will both be playing Martinsburg the next time they take the court. GVCS Broadfording will host Martinsburg at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, while Saint James will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
