Baseball Game Preview: Molalla Indians vs. Valley Catholic Valiants

Molalla hasn't had much luck against Valley Catholic recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. Molalla will look to defend their home field against Valley Catholic at 3:00 p.m. Molalla is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.

Molalla's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They blew past Pleasant Hill 8-0.

Camdyn Morey was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over 6.1 innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (one). He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. Morey is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.

In other batting news, Garrett Brusseau was excellent, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two).

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Valley Catholic's offense. They lost 7-0 to Blanchet Catholic on Friday.

Valley Catholic saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brandon Yee, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Molalla now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Valley Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
