Basketball Recap: Ayden - Grifton Takes a Loss

Ayden - Grifton lost against Farmville Central back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Ayden - Grifton Chargers took a 37-21 bruising from the Farmville Central Jaguars. The matchup marked the Chargers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Madison Denham was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 20 boards for Farmville Central. The dominant performance gave Denham a new career-high in boards. Another player making a difference was Kaydien Joyner, who posted eight points in addition to six boards and four steals.

Ayden - Grifton's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Farmville Central, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ayden - Grifton and New Bern will round out the year against one another at at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Ayden - Grifton is facing New Bern at the right time seeing as New Bern is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Farmville Central, they will take on D.H. Conley at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
