Football Recap: Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy Starts Season with Victory at Home

Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They breezed past the South Carolina S Spartans to the tune of 48-0. The Gryphons not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since September 11, 2024 (when they won 61-6).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Charlie Sutton, who rushed for 94 yards and one TD on only six carries, and also caught one score. Max Sutton was another key passer, throwing for 138 yards and three touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 241 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2024.

South Carolina S' loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy will host Greenville H at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for South Carolina S, they will venture away from home to square off against Georgia Force Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. This will be the Spartans' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
