Baseball Recap: Vincennes Rivet's Loss Ends Six-Game Winning Streak on the Road

If Vincennes Rivet was feeling good fresh off their 8-2 takedown of North Knox on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Patriots fell just short of Oblong/Hutsonville/Palestine by a score of 6-4 on Thursday. The Patriots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Oblong/Hutsonville/Palestine apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Nash Ransom was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.

In other batting news, Brody (Bo) Shots was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Vincennes Rivet's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-4. As for Oblong/Hutsonville/Palestine, they pushed their record up to 10-7 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Looking ahead, Vincennes Rivet will welcome Linton-Stockton at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Oblong/Hutsonville/Palestine, they will venture away from home to challenge Martinsville at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
