After a string of five wins, Friends' Central's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They came up short against Shipley, falling 8-2. Having soared to a lofty 22 runs in the game before, Friends' Central couldn't push the score so high this time.

Friends' Central's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 9-3. As for Shipley, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.

Friends' Central and Shipley should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings.
