Recap: Calhoun Tigers vs. Autaugaville Eagles
The Calhoun Tigers had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28 points), and they went ahead and made it eight on Monday. They blew past Autaugaville 69-41 at home. Calhoun has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 20 points or more this season.
Calhoun got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Tyler Robertson out in front who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Brenterris Managan, who scored 12 points.
Calhoun has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for Autaugaville, they dropped their record down to 9-8 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Calhoun won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Marion at 8:00 p.m. on January 30th. Marion has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Autaugaville, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Marbury at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th. Hopefully Marbury focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 last Saturday.
