Basketball Recap: Harrisburg Hornets vs. Rivercrest Colts

After flying high against Osceola last Monday, Harrisburg came back down to earth. The Harrisburg Hornets received a blow on Thursday as they fell 63-46 to the Rivercrest Colts. The Hornets haven't had much luck with the Colts recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

Loss or not, Harrisburg got some senior leadership from Elisabeth Green and Alesia Rand. Green went 7 for 15 on her way to 18 points and six boards, while Rand almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 11 rebounds. Rand has been hot, having also posted two or more blocks the last seven times she's played.

It was another big night for Destiny Burks, who posted 16 points in addition to eight assists and eight boards for Rivercrest. That's the most assists Burks has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Randashia Booker, who put up 11 points along with five assists and four steals.

Harrisburg's defeat dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Rivercrest, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season.
