The St. Vincent de Paul Mustangs will head out to take on the Truckee Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

While Mustangs fans will have to keep waiting for their team to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Friday's season opener. They breezed by De Anza on the road to the tune of 48-6 on Friday. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 22-0.

Gabe Casanovas went supernova for St. Vincent de Paul, throwing for 207 yards and three touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes. Joseph Edwards was in the mix as well, providing St. Vincent de Paul with two receiving touchdowns touchdowns.

St. Vincent de Paul wouldn't let De Anza keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. St. Vincent de Paul can thank George Chaput and Rob Rooks for forcing both of them. Chaput's also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, forcing a fumble and making three total tackles. Hudson Kensic was another major factor on D, making 11 total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, Truckee had already won 14 in a row dating back to last season (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.6 points), and they went ahead and made it 15 on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Diamondbacks a 42-0 shutout. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Wolverines just coasted through the last quarter.

Joseph Birnbaum was a one-man wrecking crew for Truckee as he rushed for 100 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries, and also picked up 47 receiving yards. Jace Estabrook was another key player, throwing for 153 yards and a touchdown.
