Football Preview: St. Vincent de Paul Mustangs vs. Truckee Wolverines
The St. Vincent de Paul Mustangs will head out to take on the Truckee Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.
While Mustangs fans will have to keep waiting for their team to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Friday's season opener. Their defense stepped up to hand the Diamondbacks a 42-0 shutout. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Wolverines just coasted through the last quarter.
Joseph Birnbaum was a one-man wrecking crew for Truckee as he rushed for 100 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries, and also picked up 47 receiving yards. Jace Estabrook was another key player, throwing for 153 yards and a touchdown.
