Recap: Rio Americano Raiders vs. Vista del Lago Eagles
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Rio Americano Raiders, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They took a serious blow against Vista del Lago on Friday, falling 48-7. Rio Americano was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-0.
Leading Vista del Lago to victory were Matt Long and Johnny Koett. Long picked up 121 receiving yards and three touchdowns, while Koett threw for 304 yards and five touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes. Long was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 60 yards. Vista del Lago also got a significant boost from Jack Cromwell, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 101 yards.
Rio Americano's loss dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Vista del Lago, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-1.
Rio Americano does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Vista del Lago will take on Patterson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Patterson is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
