Football Game Recap: Gateway Charter Academy vs. Mildred

Mildred were able to grind out a solid win over Gateway Charter Academy on Friday, winning 33-20.

After a totally unproductive first quarter, the Mildred offense stepped up its game and put 12 points on the board in the second quarter. Gateway Charter Academy countered with 6 points, leaving the score at 12-6 going into the half. The offense for Mildred continued to do well in the second half, scoring another 21 points to put the game away.

Senior Q.T. Turner and sophomore Bishop Harris were among the main playmakers for Mildred as the former and the latter picked up 139 yards on the ground. The victory bumped their record up to 3-1. Gateway Charter Academy are still searching for that first win as they fell to 0-4.

Next week Mildred take on Palmer at 7:30 PM. Unlike Mildred, Palmer will be limping in after taking a loss. Gateway Charter Academy will be playing at home against Edgewood at at 7:30 PM.
