Basketball Game Preview: East Granby Crusaders vs. Canton Warriors

East Granby is 1-9 against Canton since January of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The East Granby Crusaders will square off against the Canton Warriors at 6:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

East Granby is headed into Wednesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Monday. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 57-56 heartbreaker at the hands of Stafford.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Canton). They were the clear victor by a 79-53 margin over Windsor Locks on Monday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Canton is also on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.0 points per game. As for East Granby, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.

East Granby didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Canton in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 51-47 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for East Granby since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
