Softball Game Preview: Lafayette Christian Academy Knights vs. Lake Arthur Tigers

The Lafayette Christian Academy Knights will head out to square off against the Lake Arthur Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Lafayette Christian Academy has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while Lake Arthur will arrive with five straight victories.

On Monday, Lafayette Christian Academy didn't have quite enough to beat Mamou and fell 13-12. Even if the Knights couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Meanwhile, Lake Arthur made easy work of Gueydan on Monday and carried off a 16-1 victory. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by ten runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Addison Abshire, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Kendra Simon, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Lake Arthur pushed their record up to 10-7 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Lafayette Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-7.
