Basketball Game Preview: North Lincoln Knights vs. Foard Tigers

The North Lincoln Knights will venture away from home to challenge the Foard Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. North Lincoln knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 19 matchups -- so hopefully Foard likes a good challenge.

North Lincoln will bounce into Friday's game after beating St. Stephens, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. North Lincoln came out on top against St. Stephens by a score of 57-47 on Tuesday. Given the Knights' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 40th, while the Indians are ranked 328th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Foard lost to East Lincoln on the road by a 57-40 margin on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now lost nine in a row.

Foard's defeat dropped their record down to 12-9. As for North Lincoln, they pushed their record up to 19-1 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.

Everything came up roses for North Lincoln against Foard when the teams last played back in January, as the squad secured a 76-40 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for North Lincoln since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
