Baseball Recap: ABF Academy Homestead Takes a Loss

ABF Academy Homestead was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the ABF Academy Cowboys. The Bandits were not able to make up for their loss to the Cowboys from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Brandon Amador was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and five unearned) runs off eight hits. What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Jaylian Lopez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Zion Pardo, who scored two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

ABF Academy Homestead's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for ABF Academy, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

ABF Academy Homestead has already played their next match, a 16-1 loss against Doral Academy on the 10th. As for ABF Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 15-9 defeat against Dade Christian on the 10th.
