Volleyball Recap: North Buncombe Takes a Loss

After flying high against Tuscola on Monday, North Buncombe came back down to earth. The Black Hawks took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Madison Patriots on Wednesday. The Black Hawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Patriots apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

North Buncombe started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 24-26, 25-18, 25-21, 25-15.

Leading Madison to victory were Sydney Wells and Meredith Gault. Wells had ten digs, while Gault had ten digs and four aces. Gault is crushing it when it comes to aces: she's served at least four every time she's taken the court this season.

North Buncombe's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Madison, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Buncombe will challenge Mitchell at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Madison, they will take on Tuscola at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
