Volleyball Game Preview: Clay Center Tigers vs. Buhler Crusaders

The Clay Center Tigers will square off against the Buhler Crusaders at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. Clay Center will be looking to extend their current 24-game winning streak.

Clay Center is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They came out on top against Rose Hill by a score of 2-0.

Clay Center easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-7.

Buhler had taken Salina Central down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end last Saturday. The Crusaders fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 2-1.

Buhler started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-23, 25-17.

Clay Center's win bumped their record up to 38-2. As for Buhler, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-22-2 record this season.

Clay Center was able to grind out a solid victory over Buhler when the teams last played back in October of 2024, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
