Volleyball Game Preview: Glenbrook South Titans vs. Barrington Fillies/Broncos

The Glenbrook South Titans will head out on the road to square off against the Barrington Fillies/Broncos at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The last four games Glenbrook South has played have been within one set, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Glenbrook South took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They skirted past Glenbrook North 2-1. The win continues a trend for the Titans in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won eight in a row.

Glenbrook South had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-17, 25-16.

Glenbrook South found their leader in sophomore Logan Ball, who had eight digs and two aces.

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Barrington's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Fremd.

Barrington was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-16.

Barrington's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 14-5. As for Glenbrook South, they pushed their record up to 16-10 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Glenbrook South came out on top in a nail-biter against Barrington in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Titans since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
