Recap: Unatego Spartans vs. Walton Warriors

The Unatego Spartans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 24 points or more this season. They were the clear victor by a 55-31 margin over Walton. The win was just business as usual for Unatego, who after five games remain undefeated this season.

Walton lost on Thursday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Grace Walley, who scored 12 points along with three steals. The game was Walley's eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kennedy Williams, who scored five points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Unatego pushed their record up to 5-0 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.0 points per game. As for Walton, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-3.

Unatego's road trip will continue as they head out to face Whitesboro at 3:30 p.m. on December 27th. Walton will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Sullivan West at 12:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New York (Sullivan West is ranked 154th, while Walton is ranked 138th).
