It's often noted that quarterbacks get too much credit when their teams win and too much blame when they lose.

Both quarterbacks deserved major kudos Friday night when Brewster (N.Y.) defeated host Hendrick Hudson (Montrose, N.Y.) 56-49 in a wild Section 1 Class A game.

According to lohud.com, Brewster quarterback Jack Guida accounted for eight touchdowns, six via the rush, leading his team to a third straight victory.

Three straight Guida rushing touchdowns in the fourth quarter, combined with earlier TD passes of 67 and 55 yards, carried Brewster to victory.

It helped offset a school record-setting performance by Hudson quarterback Nick Cunningham, who accounted for six touchdowns in the first half alone. He finished with six passing and one rushing touchdown. His six TD passes were a school record for Hudson (2-1).

"I don't think they charged admission, but it was worth it if they did," Brewster coach Ed Mulvhill said after the game.
