Volleyball Preview: Carlsbad Cavemen/Cavegirls vs. Hobbs Eagles        
        
		
             Carlsbad is 0-10 against Hobbs since March of 2021 but things could change  on Thursday. After both having extra time off,  the two teams will dust off their jerseys to  face off against  one another  at 6:00  p.m.
 Carlsbad is headed into Thursday's   game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game  on Thursday. They came up short against  Roswell, falling  3-0. Considering the last time the Cavemen/Cavegirls couldn't score was  back in September, the team can't take the result too hard.
 The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-14,  25-16.
 Meanwhile,  there's no place like home for Hobbs, who bounced back after a  loss on the road  last Tuesday. They were the clear victor by  a  3-0 margin over Clovis on Thursday.
 Hobbs was especially dominant in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-4, 25-21,  25-18.
 Hobbs' win  was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from   Kenzie Porter, who  had four  digs and two  aces. The team also got some help courtesy of  Jaelyn Strickland, who  had ten  digs.
 Hobbs  was lethal from the service line and  finished the game with 12  aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  served at least five  aces in four consecutive  matches.
 Carlsbad's loss dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Hobbs, they now  have a winning record of 11-10.
