Basketball Game Preview: Salem Lions vs. Borden Braves

The Salem Lions will venture away from home to challenge the Borden Braves at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Salem has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with three straight losses, while Borden will come in with four straight wins.

Salem came into this matchup off a tough 42-point defeat on Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Crawford County by a score of 64-61 on Tuesday. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Meanwhile, Borden humbled Crawford County with a 61-31 victory. The Braves pushed the score to 55-20 by the end of the third, a deficit the Wolfpack cut but never quite recovered from.

Borden's victory bumped their record up to 14-7. As for Salem, their loss dropped their record down to 6-15.

Salem lost to Borden on the road by a decisive 51-33 margin when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Salem avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
