Baseball Recap: Midland Classical Academy Takes a Loss

Midland Classical Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Horizon Scorpions.

Kayson West made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. Henry Friez was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Midland Classical Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Horizon, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.

Midland Classical Academy will take on Monahans at 7:20 p.m. on Friday. As for Horizon, they will take on Stanton in a tournament on Friday.
