Football Game Preview: Columbus Blue Devils vs. Kendrick Cherokees + Official Tickets

Columbus has gone a perfect 3-0 against Kendrick recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Blue Devils will face off against the Cherokees at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Kendrick will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: Columbus extended their winning streak to three on Thursday. The Blue Devils blew past Hardaway, posting a 38-7 victory. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28-7.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Rayshaun Glover and Grant Geringer. Glover gained 99 total yards and two touchdowns while Geringer rushed for 90 yards on only nine carries. Those 90 rushing yards gave Geringer a new career-high.

Special teams played a big role in the game for Columbus, adding 14 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Andrew Smith Iv, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Kendrick never let their opponents score last Friday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 40-0 win over Jordan. The contest marked the Cherokees' most dominant victory of the season.

Kendrick now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Columbus, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.

Everything came up roses for Columbus against Kendrick in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 31-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blue Devils since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
