Basketball Recap: Clarkrange Comes Up Short

Clarkrange saw some tournament action on Saturday. They fell to the DeKalb County Tigers 53-49.

Despite the loss, Clarkrange still got an impressive performance from Bryton Swallows, who went 7 for 11 on his way to 21 points and seven rebounds. That was a full 42.9% of Clarkrange's points, marking the third time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason McWhirter, who had nine points and five rebounds.

Clarkrange's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for DeKalb County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-7.

Clarkrange will be taking part in a tournament against Sunbright at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. Clarkrange is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.4 points per game this season. As for DeKalb County, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Smith County at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
