Soccer Game Preview: Oak Ridge vs. Webb

The Oak Ridge Wildcats are taking a road trip to take on the Webb Spartans at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Oak Ridge's offense. They came up short against West on Tuesday, falling 3-0. While losing is never fun, Oak Ridge can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee soccer rankings (they are ranked 98th, while West are ranked 29th).

Meanwhile, Webb has been on a difficult stretch since their win on March 27. They and Fulton finished up their game with a 0-0 draw on Tuesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for Webb as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Webb's draw gives them a new season record of 3-6-2. As for Oak Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9-1.

Oak Ridge couldn't quite get it done against Webb in their previous matchup back in April of 2023 as they fell 3-1. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
