Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Watervliet). They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Coloma Comets on Friday, sneaking past 40-37. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Panthers as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.

Watervliet's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Courtney Van Lente, who posted eight points along with six boards and five steals. Marissa Lowell was another key player, putting up nine points.

Watervliet's victory bumped their record up to 2-6. As for Coloma, they dropped their record down to 1-8 with the loss, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Watervliet Panthers duke it out with the Benton Harbor Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Coloma, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Schoolcraft at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
