Basketball Game Recap: Hopkins vs. NorthPointe Christian

After flying high against Lee on Tuesday, the Hopkins Vikings came back down to earth. Hopkins was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 66-61 to the NorthPointe Christian Mustangs. The Vikings' loss signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.

The Vikings' defeat pushed them down to 13-5. The win makes it two in a row for NorthPointe Christian and bumps their record up to 10-6.

The Vikings have the luxury of staying at home another game and will welcome Belding on Tuesday. Hopkins is the favorite here -- although they were the favorites in this last contest, too, so the odds might count for a little less. NorthPointe Christian is staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Lee. The Mustangs won't have the home-court advantage, but they do enjoy an advantage in the MaxPreps rankings.
