Basketball Recap: Saturday's Defeat Ends Richfield's Winning Streak

It was a good run, but Richfield unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 80-69 to the Two Rivers Warriors. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (59), the Spartans still had to take the loss.

Defeat or not, Richfield got some senior leadership from Aniiya Johnson and Desirai Chappell. Johnson went 10 for 21 on her way to 29 points and five steals, while Chappell posted 21 points along with seven steals and five boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Johnson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Iona Macnabb, who put up nine points.

Richfield's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-4. As for Two Rivers, their victory bumped their record up to 12-8.

Richfield will venture away from home to challenge Visitation at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Two Rivers has already played their next matchup (against Simley), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
