Softball Recap: Waukegan Bulldogs vs. Mundelein Mustangs

Waukegan had lost seven straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 0-11 to make it eight. They came up short against the Mundelein Mustangs, falling 16-0. The Bulldogs were not able to make up for their loss to the Mustangs from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

As for Mundelein, their win bumped their record up to 11-4. That 16 run margin sets a new team best for them this season.

For Mundelein's part, Claire Connelly was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs Connelly has posted since April 1st. Looking ahead, Waukegan will head out to challenge Lake Zurich at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Mundelein, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 7-6 victory against Grayslake Central on the 26th.
