Softball Game Preview: Minford Falcons vs. Dawson-Bryant Hornets

The Minford Falcons will head out on the road to face off against the Dawson-Bryant Hornets at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Minford is looking for their season's first victory.

Minford fell victim to Northwest and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 9-0 to the Mohawks.

Meanwhile, Dawson-Bryant was able to grind out a solid win over Valley on Monday, taking the game 5-1.

Braelie Hitchcock was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. She also put up two RBI, which were her first of the season. Kasey Vanderhoof was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Dawson-Bryant pushed their record up to 2-2 with the victory, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Minford, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

Minford couldn't quite finish off Dawson-Bryant when the teams last played back in April of 2023 and fell 7-5. Can Minford avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
