            Softball Recap: Trimble County Raiders vs. Carroll County Panthers        
        
		
        
        
            The home team had won the previous three meetings between Trimble County and Carroll County, and Trimble County kept the tradition alive. The Raiders narrowly escaped with a  win as the  squad sidled past the Panthers  5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  victory the Raiders have posted  since April 17th.
 Alyssa Ritchie made a big impact no matter where she played. She  tossed five innings while giving up just two earned  (and one unearned) runs off   five  hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in 16 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-3 with two  runs and one  double.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Jocie Stucker, who  went 3-for-4 with two  RBI and one  run.  Alanna Washington was another key player,  going 2-for-4 with three  RBI.
 Trimble County was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .387. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a  batting average of .323 or higher in four consecutive  contests.

Trimble County pushed their record up to 18-8 with the  win, which was their fourth straight  at home. Those  home  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Carroll County, their loss dropped their record down to 16-7.
