Soccer Game Preview: Iroquois vs. Mercyhurst Prep

Iroquois hasn't had much luck against Mercyhurst Prep recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Braves will challenge the Lakers at 4:45 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Iroquois' victory against Eisenhower wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Braves had just enough and edged out the Knights 2-1 on Wednesday. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since September 13, 2023, but that streak is no more.

Hunter Chew and Zakary Thomas scored both of Iroquois' goals, bringing their combined season tally to eight goals.

Meanwhile, Mercyhurst Prep entered their tilt with Saegertown on Wednesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Their defense stepped up to hand the Panthers an 8-0 shutout. That's two games straight that Mercyhurst Prep have won by exactly eight goals.

Iroquois now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Mercyhurst Prep, their win bumped their record up to 11-6.
