Basketball Game Preview: Benedictine Cadets vs. Charlotte Latin Hawks

The Benedictine Cadets and the Charlotte Latin Hawks will face off at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Benedictine is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.3 points per game this season.

Benedictine is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Archbishop Ryan just ended the team's eight-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 57-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Raiders and Ragdolls. The contest marked the Cadets' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Benedictine might have lost, but man, Caleb Jones was a machine: he dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten boards. The match was Jones' 34th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of John Lilly, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 12 points and seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, Charlotte Latin didn't have quite enough to beat Bishop Kenny on Friday and fell 45-43. The Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Charlotte Latin's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Benedictine, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 8-1.
