Meanwhile, Coral Springs Charter's rock-solid pitchers showed up for the team's fourth consecutive shutout on Tuesday. They put the hurt on St. Brendan with a sharp 12-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won 16 contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Courtney Wahlbrink made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gio Gurgel, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024. Heather Robertson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple.
Coral Springs Charter's victory was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 23-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.4 runs on average over those games. As for Somerset Academy (Silver Palms), their record is now 21-6.
Both Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) and Coral Springs Charter just can't seem to miss. The Stallions have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.5 hits per game. However, it's not like Coral Springs Charter struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.2 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
