Baseball Recap: Monticello Snags 16th Win in Last 18 Games

Monticello got themselves on the board against Mt. Pulaski on Monday, but Mt. Pulaski never followed suit. They came out on top against the Hilltoppers by a score of 3-0. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Sages also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2023.

Monticello is on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 18 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Mt. Pulaski, their loss dropped their record down to 20-6.

Monticello does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mt. Pulaski, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Villa Grove at 4:30 p.m. The last five games the Blue Devils have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
