Baseball Recap: Durant Comes Up Short

Lisbon hit Durant with a nine-run seventh inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Wildcats came up short against the Lions, falling 12-4. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in June of 2024.

Colby Gast made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and two RBI. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of David Holtz, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

This is the second loss in a row for Durant and nudges their season record down to 14-6. As for Lisbon, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-12.

Looking ahead, Durant will look to defend their home field on Monday against West Liberty at 5:00 p.m. As for Lisbon, they will venture away from home to face off against Tipton at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
