Recap: Mountain Pointe Pride vs. Horizon Huskies

This season hasn't been kind to the Mountain Pointe Pride, who are still winless after their 12th match. They took a 45-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of Horizon on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Mountain Pointe can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 253rd, while Horizon is ranked 86th).

Horizon found their leader in underclassman Peyton Schiltz, who scored 17 points along with six blocks and three steals. The matchup was Schiltz's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Paisy Perkins, who scored seven points along with 16 rebounds.

Mountain Pointe's defeat was their sixth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-12. As for Horizon, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-6.

Mountain Pointe will be playing at home against Notre Dame Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Notre Dame Prep focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Tuesday. Horizon is on the road again on Thursday and play against Williams Field at 6:00 p.m. on January 11th.
