Volleyball Recap: Wyoming Area Warriors vs. Valley View Cougars

Wyoming Area took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Valley View Cougars. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Warriors also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

Wyoming Area wouldn't go down easily and took Valley View into a fifth set where they got it done with a five-point win. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-18, 23-25, 24-26, 15-10.

Valley View's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Layla Marino, who had 11 digs, nine kills, and six aces, and Monica Orellano, who had 27 digs and two aces. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Hallock, who had seven digs and two aces.

Coming up, Wyoming Area will be playing at home against Wyoming Valley West at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Warriors' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Valley View, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Abington Heights on the 28th.
