Softball Recap: Aubrey Rogers' Luck Changes for the Better on Thursday

Aubrey Rogers's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They came out on top against the Oasis Sharks by a score of 11-3 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won six matches by eight runs or more so far this season.

Ciena Vangemert was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Alexis Alvarez, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

The win snapped Aubrey Rogers' losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-8 record. As for Oasis, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-7.

Looking ahead, Aubrey Rogers will face off against Neumann at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Celtics' pitching crew has only allowed 1.8 runs per game this season, so the Patriots' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Oasis, they will square off against Ida Baker at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
