Football Recap: Prairie View Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Prairie View extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 12 on Friday, dropping them down to 0-7. They lost to the Brighton Bulldogs on the road by a 35-21 margin. The Thunderhawks were not able to make up for their defeat to the Bulldogs from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Despite the loss, Prairie View still got an impressive performance from Zavian Martinez, who threw for 219 yards and one TD on only 16 passes, and also punched in one touchdown on the ground.

Brighton's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-6. Their offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last three games.

Among those leading the charge was Blake Andrews, who rushed for 47 yards and a pair of scores. Dalton Walker got in on the action as well, returning a kick for a touchdown.

Looking ahead, Prairie View will face off against Fossil Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Brighton, they will take on Fairview at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Knights will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight.
