Basketball Recap: Covenant Academy Rams vs. Windsor Academy Knights
Covenant Academy kicked off their season on the road on Thursday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a blow against the Windsor Academy Knights, falling 72-16. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.
Covenant Academy got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of Katelyn Koerts and Caroline Peed, who each put up three points. Lexia Varoli held things down on the boards with nine rebounds.
Leading Windsor Academy to victory were Kyndall Bowen and Kennedi Harris. Bowen almost dropped a double-double with 26 points and nine steals, while Harris dropped a double-double with 22 points and 11 boards. Bowen continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Audrey Dobson, who posted six points along with ten rebounds and five steals.
The victory (which was Windsor Academy's third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.
Covenant Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 64-42 loss against Georgia Military College on the 21st. Hopefully Windsor Academy paid attention to the Rams' matchup: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Rams at 12:00 p.m. on the 6th.
