Recap: Centaurus Warriors vs. Windsor Wizards
The Centaurus Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight defeat. They were outmatched by Windsor at home and fell 59-23. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Centaurus in their matchups with Windsor: they've now lost eight in a row.
Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Clara Halloran, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds. Ingrid Lorton was another key contributor, scoring five points along with five blocks.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Centaurus struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They are winless (0-4) when they can't control their own glass like that.
Centaurus has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 11 of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season. As for Windsor, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 14-7.
Centaurus will stay at home for another game and welcome Greeley Central at 6:00 p.m. on February 14th. Greeley Central has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Windsor, they will head out on the road to face off against Mead at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Mead is on a six-game streak of home wins, Windsor a six-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
