Softball Recap: Plant Snaps Six-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Thursday just wasn't the day for Plant's offense. They fell 3-0 to the Durant Cougars on Thursday. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Panthers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Plant saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kate Compton, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Plant's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-7. As for Durant, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Plant will square off against Steinbrenner at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The last six games the Warriors have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Durant, they will face off against Gaither at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Cougars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cowboys have averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season.
