Basketball Recap: Hoosac Owls vs. Newman AA Cardinals
Hoosac was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 68-58 to the Newman AA Cardinals.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Newman AA to victory, but perhaps none more so than Aiden Losiewicz, who posted 17 points and six rebounds. Losiewicz is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last five games he's played. Riley Deering was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 11 points and nine boards.
Hoosac's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Newman AA, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 17-7.
Coming up, Hoosac will face off against Winchendon on Saturday. As for Newman AA, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Brewster Academy Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Brewster Academy Prep knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 30 contests -- so hopefully Newman AA likes a good challenge.
