Baseball Recap: South Park Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Victory

South Park proved they can win big last Monday (they won by seven) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Shady Side Academy Bulldogs 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted since May 14, 2024.

South Park got a great performance from Robert Lenzi as he struck out ten batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits.

The victory (which was South Park's fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Shady Side Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.

Coming up, South Park will take on South Fayette at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lions' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Shady Side Academy, they will challenge Taylor Allderdice at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
