Soccer Game Preview: Scituate vs. East Providence

The Scituate Spartans will venture away from home to square off against the East Providence Townies at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Scituate will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any goals last Saturday, then bounced right back against West Warwick on Tuesday. The Spartans put the hurt on the Wizards with a sharp 6-2 victory. Katelyn Chatelle was a massive factor in the win as she booted in three goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, East Providence kept a clean sheet against Moses Brown on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Quakers 1-0. Given East Providence's advantage in MaxPreps' Rhode Island soccer rankings (they are ranked fourth, while Moses Brown are ranked 30th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Scituate picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 2-5-3. As for East Providence, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That somehow still isn't as good as their 9-1-1 record this season.
