With a playoff win on the line, Lake Oswego rose to the challenge on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 31-12 win over Nelson. Winning may never get old, but the Lakers sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Among those leading the charge was Hudson Kurland, who rushed for 144 yards and one TD on only 15 carries. Those 144 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Justin Craigwell helped out on the ground, rushing for 83 yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Lake Oswego was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 410 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Lake Oswego's record now sits at 11-1. As for Nelson, with the defeat, they broke their nine-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-2.

Looking ahead, Lake Oswego will be playing in front of their home fans against Central Catholic at 12:30 p.m. on Friday. The Rams' defense has only allowed 12.4 points per game this season, so the Lakers' offense will have their work cut out for them. Nelson does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
