Baseball Recap: Riverview Sarasota Triumphs

Riverview Sarasota owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Friday. They came out on top against the Naples Golden Eagles by a score of 5-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rams.

Mason Peluso tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over 4.1 innings pitched. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February.

At the plate, Andrew Rhymestine was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He also launched a home run, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Alastair Simonson, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two RBI.

Riverview Sarasota's record now sits at 7-17. As for Naples, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-16 record this season.

Riverview Sarasota will square off against Sarasota at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Sailors' pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so the Rams' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Naples, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 18-1 victory against Lely on the 14th.
